SINGAPORE - Nov 10, 1999 In recognition of the tremendous growth potential of e-business in the Asia Pacific region, Organic, Inc. - one of the world's first and foremost new media companies - today announced that it is setting up its regional office in Singapore.

Organic, Inc., a pioneer in online business development and full-service solutions provider to major corporations, decided to establish its regional base in Singapore to take advantage of the country's excellent physical infrastructure and strong government support. "The government's push to develop Singapore as Internet hub is in perfect tandem with our objectives. The country is a clear regional leader in the adoption of Internet technology, and this maps well with Organic's charter to help its clients bring their customer's online experiences to a new level of sophistication," said Russel Cheng, Vice President, Managing Director, Singapore, Organic.

Founded in 1993, US-based Organic was one of the first organizations in the world to realize the commercial potential of the Web when e-commerce and widespread use of the Internet were still in their infancy. The company has created highly successful online businesses for giants like Nike, Starbucks, Daimler-Chrysler and Compaq. Today, Organic leads the Industry in understanding customer behavior. Through a full suite of services, it applies strategy, creativity and technology to deliver compelling consumer experiences for customers.

With the establishment of the Singapore office, the company's aim is to transplant its world-class expertise to the local market, to help organizations transform their web sites into truly viable and successful online businesses. To achieve this, Organic has appointed two Singapore-based talents: Russel Cheng, as Vice President for Asia Pacific, and Veronica Ng, as Client Partner. Leaders in their field, Russel and Veronica will be combining their extensive knowledge of the local markets with the expertise, vast experience and cutting-edge technology of Organic. "Today, many Asian CEOs have either embarked on, or are in the process of, building online extensions of their business. The problem is, many do not know how to fully harness the power of the Web to create customer experiences that will encourage consumers to come back for more. Our plan is to help these CEOs create compelling e-businesses and build relationships with their customers that are so powerful, they will be customers for life," said Russel.

The establishment of world-class companies like Organic in Singapore helps to support Government's far-reaching economic policies. Mr Liew Heng San, Managing Director, Economic Development Board, said: "Our vision is to build a global hub in Asia for the digital economy. Players like Organic form a vital component by providing expertise on leveraging the Internet to transform businesses. With a pro-business environment, excellent infrastructure and an IT-savvy workforce, Singapore is well-placed to host more of such activities."

In addition to a supportive government policy a slew of predictions by Dataquest suggest a bright-looking future for the digital economy. "B2C e-commerce in the Asia-Pacific region will be worth US$43 billion representing 25% of the total world wide, and by 2003, 220 million people in the Asia-Pacific will have access to the Internet. In light of these figures we see the Asia-Pacific market as one giant opportunity and we are confident that Organic will be able to capitalize on the vast potential of this region," said Russel.
