Paid Android apps coming to Canada next week?

In an interview with The Gazette, Wendy Rozeluk said that Google hopes to make an announcement next week on availability of paid apps to Canada. If this is indeed true, and paid apps will be coming to Canada, that also means there is a good possibility that Google will open up Google Checkout to Canadian merchants.

“There are many factors that come into play to make sure the selling and purchasing processes run smoothly. It takes time to bring support to more countries, which is something we are working hard to do.” - Wendy Rozeluk, Google Canada Spokesperson
