Today we hear PalmSource (which makesthe Palm OS) has spent $21 million in stock to buy a Chinese Linux developer(about 10% of the company), and has plans for a Linux port. The developer, CMS, already has deals with a lot of Chinese mobile product makers.
"We will definitely be a contributor to the Linux community," vice president-engineering Mike Kelley said in an e-mail to CNet. Anything PalmSource adds to Linux will go out under the GPL.>
