PC market will grow at about 11% in 2004 and 2005

Market research group IDC said on Wednesday it expects shipments of personal computers to increase 11.4% in 2004 and 11.2% in 2005 due to notebook computer growth in part. For all of 2003, shipments grew by 11.7% to a record 154.5 mil units, it said. The value of the market also increased by 1.2% to $178 bil, the first year-over-year growth in value since 2000.
