The GM2 SFV1 kit comes with a faster SSD (64GB/128GB/256GB) and a USB 3.0 adaptor for you to use your old SSD and a big USB flash drive (although why offer USB 3.0 is beyond me since Apple doesn't support this standard).

How much of a speed boost does the PhotoFast SSD offer? Quite a performance boost. Here's the spec for the included Apple SSD:

  • Sequential reads - 200MB/s
  • Sequential writes - 185MB/s
  • Random reads - 19MB/s
  • Random writes - 5MB/s

Here's the spec for the PhotoFast GM2 SFV1 drive:

  • Sequential reads - 250MB/s
  • Sequential writes - 250MB/s
  • Random reads - 50MB/s
  • Random writes - 30MB/s

No pricing for the kit is currently available.
