Polish enterprise application software market up 25.3% in 2004

The Polish enterprise application software (EAS) market expanded by 25.3% to reach $135.53 mln in license and maintenance revenue in 2004, IDC says. Although in terms of local currency the increase was 17.5%, this was still significantly higher than the 10.3% (in dollars) recorded for 2003. While large organizations have been scaling back on IT to cut costs, heightened competition and the emergence of small and medium-sized organizations have fueled investments in IT and in EAS in particular. IDC expects steady growth over the next few years, with the Polish EAS market expanding by an average of 16.5% annually.
