Preventing the old coffee-in-the-keyboard trick

A while back, I had a rather unpleasant experience with coffee leaping out of a mug and attacking the keyboard of a new Dell computer (see the string of posts beginning with The old coffee-in-the-keyboard trick).

What do you think? Had I owned one of these coffee cup holders, the chain of events mentioned in those posts may not have happened. That would have been very nice even though I would have lost 14 days of interesting posts.
