In a podcast recorded this afternoon, Mark Anderson, founder and publisher of the Strategic News Service (SNS) and the Future in Review conference talks with me about the Inkwell Project, the forthcoming FIRe conference, Google and China and the debate about Net Neutrality. The SNS Inkwell Project is chartered with increasing the "size and effectiveness of the pre-K through 12 education technology market by managing the synthesis of functional specifications for a ubiquitous computing platform." Funders include Microsoft, Intel, Sun and Red Hat, and Mark told me that Project Inkwell has developed a functional specification with 160 items, such as must be able to survive a four-foot drop, but isn't ready to disclose the spec publically--the partners get it first. The audio is available as an MP3 that can be downloaded or, if you’re already subscribed to ZDNet’s IT Matters series of audio podcasts, it will show up on your system or MP3 player automatically.
