PS2 online auction bids reach £600
Some people will do anything to get their hands on a PlayStation2
Bids for PlayStation2s have reached £600 already at online auction site QXL.
With the pre-order system meaning that consumers will be unable to buy a machine off the shelf before Christmas, the prospect of a PS2-free festive season has obviously proved too much for some.
The normal retail price of the PS2, which is launched today, is £299.
Consumers tempted to join the bidding should be aware that there are also imported Japanese versions for sale on the site. Check the details of the unit very carefully before parting with any cash.
