Psion manifesto attacks MS, Win CE

Psion is hoping to rain on the Windows CE parade after publishing a Microsoft-bashing manifesto.

The UK firm's "Psion Charter" calls into question Microsoft's first stab at a handheld operating system, suggesting that it was designed as an afterthought to its desktop and server siblings.

Although the charter itself does not mention Microsoft by name, Bill Gates's company's shadow looms large in several references, particularly the following passage: "Accepted delays seen on office PCs such as booting up and on-screen egg timers are not acceptable to the mobile user". Another passage in the document reads: "functionality scaled down versions of PC applications are not necessarily the best products for mobile users".
