Public beta of Swype text entry system open for a few days

The soft input keyboards from Google and HTC are both quite good, but I personally find Swype to be even better and faster for most text entry situations. You can sign up for the public beta for a limited time so go get it on your device.

In my T-Mobile HTC HD2 tips and tricks post I mentioned a text input method that I enjoy using on my devices called Swype. I also mentioned this just a couple of days ago in my Sprint EVO 4G text entry methods post and mentioned it launched on the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide. I was given access to the beta of Swype and have it on my EVO 4G. I have some great news for all of you Android device owners and that is the public beta of Swype is open and available to anyone who signs up now. If you are at all interested in this slick text entry keyboard then sign up since I understand this open invitation will be limited to just a few days.

Swype is not available in the Android Market and unfortunately you won't be able to install it on the new AT&T HTC Aria since AT&T has locked you out from installing apps from "unknown sources" and limits you to just the Android Market. If your device came loaded with Swype then do not load up this beta, it shouldn't work anyways. Also, make sure to leave feedback and ask questions in the Swype forums.
