Breaking: iPhone 3G photos leaked

Is Z cat out of z bag?

CrunchGear has posted nine (count 'em) purportedly leaked pictures of the new iPhone 3G.

Secrets uncovered by the pics:

  • It’s thinner than the current model
  • Exchange support
  • MacBook Air-like bezeling
  • Stereo speakers on the back
  • Front facing camera for iChat AV
  • Multiple colors: red and a dark grey/black
  • Something about requiring XP or Vista, could this mean iChat AV is coming for Windows?

CrunchGear also deciphered the blurry type visible in the alleged ad material for the new phone. It reads:

Video just became a little more fun. Start a real time video chat with other AT&T subscribers via 3G networking, or with iChat buddies via WiFi. The video calling revolution has begun.

Jump over to CG for the rest of the pics.

Update: Some CG commenters are calling the images fake because the red iPhone is missing the lock button on the top of the unit. Check out the pics and post your thoughts. Are they the real deal?

Update 2: Engadget is convinced that the page layout photos are fake. Mostly because their source (who allegedly played with an iPhone 3G) told them that it did not have a forward facing camera for video chatting. Their searching through the iPhone 3G firmware also confirms this.
