Raon Everun ultra-portable PC boasts 7 hour battery life

I try to post as many entries here as I can on how you can work where you want to be and be productive on the go. One way to accomplish work on the go is by having a portable PC with you and one of the latest cool devices that actually has my interest as a possible future purchase is the Raon Everun ultra portable PC. This very small Windows XP PC boast a very long battery life of 7+ hours, has Bluetooth and WiFi radios, and has a unique QWERTY keyboard. Chippy was lucky enough to get one in his hands and posted a two-part video preview on UMPCPortal.com.

The device sports an AMD Geode processor (in various configurations), a 4.8 inch 800 x 480 resolution display, various hard drive options, including SSD drives, stereo speakers, and a few ports for connectivity. There are lots of buttons for launching and activating features too. Prices haven't been finalized, but the models should run about US$699 to US$1000, depending on the drive, RAM, and processor configuration. It has a cool auto-rotate feature like the Apple iPhone and appears to rotate quickly. The mouse pointer looks to work very well and the device seemed snappy. I wouldn't imagine people would want to use it for high end multimedia tasks like PhotoShop editing so if it runs Office, Outlook, and performs other web functions (as well as SlingPlayer) then it might make the perfect PC companion at a reasonable price.
