Real IE7 Beta 2 released tonight

IE7 Beta 2 has been released and according to the IE Blog, this is the real thing. They note: "This release is not the preview or the update to the preview, but the real Beta 2 of IE7 for Windows XP SP2, Windows Server 2003 SP1, and Windows XP 64-bit Edition.

IE7 Beta 2 has been released and according to the IE Blog, this is the real thing. They note:

"This release is not the preview or the update to the preview, but the real Beta 2 of IE7 for Windows XP SP2, Windows Server 2003 SP1, and Windows XP 64-bit Edition. Simply: please try it."

Ease-of-use and security are high on the IE team's agenda with this release. The final IE7 product is slated for release "in the second half of this year".

TechCrunch's Mike Arrington was at the launch and noted:

"The key features are tabbed browsing (including “Quick Tabs”, a way to see multiple web pages on a single tab), a continuation of the minimalist approach on the UI and toolbars, and enhancements to the RSS reader built into the browser. The team says they’ve made significant improvements in CSS rendering as well, a problem I noticed in the previous beta version."

I'm interested (as always) to hear what ZDNet readers have to say about the new release. Whenever I write about browsers here, I know enough to just stand back and let you guys battle it out in the Talkback. Meanwhile I'll try out the new beta too, seeing as it's no longer a "preview" :-)
