RealNetworks names new board member
RealNetworks says it has appointed Kalpana Raina to its board of directors. Raina is the executive vice president and head of the Media & Telecommunications Division at the Bank of New York, which acts as a lender to the entertainment, multimedia and publishing industries. Raina also serves on the boards of the Center for Communications and ADITI: Foundation for the Arts in New York City. The announcement came shortly after RealNetworks launched its subscription service for online music. The service, dubbed RealOne Music, charges consumers $9.95 a month for the service or $19.95 a month as part of a larger package that includes exclusive sports, entertainment and news programming. --Gwendolyn Mariano, Special to ZDNet News
