Camera manufacturer RED released specific details on their new Scarlet 2/3, including specs, prices and potential release dates.

The professional-use only camera features a 2/3-inch sensor (thus the name), a 3-axis motion sensor, GPS longitude and latitude data, and can be directed by a remote control via Wi-Fi. As for video power, the Scarlet 2/3 can record 3k REDCODE RAW video at 120fps (or 150fps burst mode) and scaled 720p or 1080p recording at 60 fps.

RED has designated two purchasing bundles. The first option is the Scarlet Interchangeable, selling for $2,750 with the brain only. It also has the special feature of being able to fit either RED lenses, or those from Nikon or Canon.

The second bundle is the $4,750 Scarlet 8X Fixed package, which includes the brain, 8x zoom lens, 2.8-inch touchscreen, travel charger and a couple of signature assets including the REDVOLT battery and REDmote.

The Scarlet packages are set to ship in May or June 2010, depending on firmware issues. For a very lengthy list of upgrades and capabilities, check out the release from RED published yesterday.
