Retrevo introduced a vertical search site at DemoFall 2006 focused on consumer electronics content.The company applies semantic analysis and clustering and classification technology to more precisely deliver query results. "We are finding deep content in hard to find places on the Web and presenting it in a categorized display," said company CEO Vipin Jain. Content is categorized as product documents, manufacturer info, blogs and forums and reviews and articles. At this stage, the venture backed company isn't displaying any ads and lacks personalization features. Jain said the that the first order of business is to build an audience prior to monetizing the site (a charactertistic of Web 2.0) and that personalization features are in the works.
