RightNow, an on-demand helpdesk service provider, on Thursday said its mobile service, RightNow Mobile, is generally available.

RightNow Mobile is designed to take the company's on-demand services to multiple devices such as smartphones, tables and GPS systems. The general idea is to tie together things like CRM, contacts and social networking via multiple devices.

Mobility is an emerging theme for enterprise software outfits. SAP bought Sybase and vendors are trying to extend their services to any device. RightNow is best known for powering online help services for companies, including Match.com, and CBS Sports. Other customers include the U.S. Army, Drugstore.com, Overstock.com and Sony.

RightNow Mobile, which is part of its CX May 2010 suite, includes:

  • Mobile Web Self-Service so consumers can use RightNow's services to handle email inquiries and rate questions and answers.
  • Mobile Web Chat, live assistance designed for mobile devices.
  • Mobile Guided Assistance, a guide to get consumers the answers they are looking for and navigate troubleshooting tips.
