Salesforce.com is prepping a Chatter interface that frankly may be better than the Web experience.

Marc Benioff, Salesforce.com's CEO, walked me through a demo at the Gartner Symposium in Orlando. In a nutshell, Benioff is walking the halls, evangelizing Chatter and talking up chief information officers.

Benioff, enthusiastic as usual, walked through the deals, pinch navigation of slides and other key perks. The iPad Chatter app was riding along with a BlackBerry app.

Needless to say the BlackBerry app wasn't as pretty as the iPad version, but got the job done.

Benioff added that the iPad app launch is imminent, which probably indicates that he'll mention it at his Gartner keynote at 5 p.m. EDT. Salesforce.com said last month that Chatter for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch were coming.
