Samsung plans Galaxy Unpacked event for February 21, Galaxy S7 expected

Samsung looks to unveil its next version of the Galaxy line at Mobile World Congress in February.

Samsung announced it will be hosting an "Unpacked" launch event on Sunday, February 21 at 1 pm EST/10 am PST in Barcelona, Spain. This is where the mobile giant is expected to unveil its next flagship handset, the Galaxy S7.

Samsung has unveiled its new flagships before at previous Mobile World Congress conferences; the year's conference will take place February 22 to 25.

Prominent leaker Evleaks said to expect a regular 5.1-inch version of the Galaxy S7 and a curved 5.5-inch S7 edge. Both handsets are expected to retain the look of the Galaxy S6, while adding dust- and water-resistance, a microSD slot, and some nice internal upgrades.

There's no official word on when the Galaxy S7 will be available for purchase in the US, though the rumor is sometime in March.
