Without any official notice, the Samsung Captivate appears to be finally some Froyo action.
After rolling out in the United States with Android 2.1, Samsung once promised that all of the Galaxy S series smartphones would be getting Android 2.2 updates by the end of the year, and that was almost within grasp in October. Maybe it meant within an entire year because only T-Mobile's Vibrant has gotten it.
Well, now it looks like the Froyo upgrade is on the way for real, at least for the Captivate, as a support page has popped up on AT&T's website. Considering the Galaxy S II smartphone has already been unveiled with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), this just seems so embarrassing for Samsung already.
UPDATE: Apparently the support page has been removed. Maybe we won't be seeing that Froyo upgrade so soon after all.
