Samsung's latest netbook, the N230, goes on sale worldwide today. And if you customize it just right, you can squeeze 13.8 hours of battery life out of this portable computer.

When it comes to an ultra-portable device like a netbook, geared towards consumers on-the-go who won't likely want to stop to charge the battery often, battery life is one of the most important specs to consider. Thus, Samsung has two options for buyers: 32Wh and 66Wh batteries that provide up to seven and 13.8 hours of work time respectively. A 6.8-hour difference seems well worth the upgrade.

Other specs to consider on the 0.9-inch thick N230 include:

  • 10.1-inch anti-reflective LED display (1,024 x 600 resolution)
  • Choice of Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz or N470 1.83GHz processors
  • Bluetooth 3.0 Hi-Speed
  • 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi
  • Ethernet
  • DLNA ready
  • Weight: 2.2 pounds
  • Optional 3G

Additional lofty style notes include a "premium black finish" with a mixture of matte and glossy textures, as well as an "ergonomic island keyboard," which really just looks like a basic netbook keyboard. Either way, that battery life is something, isn't it?
