Samsung to release red Galaxy Tab tablets in time for Valentine's Day?

Summary:Would your beloved prefer a tablet in the color of love over flowers and chocolates? The electronics giant appears to be giving you a chance to find out.

Forget jewelry or a romantic dinner. Samsung apparently thinks the perfect Valentine's Day gift is a new tablet in red.

An anonymous tipster has reported to Samsung fan site SamMobile that the company is planning to release versions of the Galaxy Tab Note, Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 in "Garnet Red." The new models are expected sometime early in 2013, just in time to give to that special someone. The red color option will supposedly only be available on the 3G/Wi-Fi flavors of the tablets.

With the tablet market seemingly saturated, trappings like color choice could help models stand out, particularly in the Android space where price can play such a major factor. A popular brand like Samsung could be impacted by tablet competitors like Amazon and Google, so putting a little design flair -- or, cough, sexiness -- into their wares isn't necessarily a bad idea. On the other hand, giving a tablet as a token of your love for Valentine's might not be the best idea.
