SAP on Thursday said its Mobile Platform 3.0, which unifies various mobile application development frameworks, is generally available.
Mobile development has been a hot area for SAP, which is trying to bring the data housed in its back-end applications to devices in the field in a user friendly way.
The company added that updated versions of the Work Manager, Inventory Manager, CRM Service Manager apps will only be available on the latest version of its mobile platform.
In addition, Mobile Platform 3.0 is used to build so called Fiori user interface.
Among the key points about Mobile Platform 3.0:
- The platform is designed for internal tool development and integrates with third party systems.
- Open Data Protocol APIs are used.
- Apache Cordova software is also utilized.
- The software development kit for the latest mobile platform is available for a free trial.
