Satyam taps Asian software talent for niche projects

The 25-member team will support highly specialized IT projects in Southeast Asia and China.

Indian services company Satyam has formed a team of Asian IT specialists to handle niche IT outsourcing projects.

According to a company statement, the team, comprising 25 IT consultants and specialists from Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and India, will support projects that are of high priority and require niche programming skills. The consultants have experience in vertical industries such as oil and gas, fast moving consumer goods, travel, logistics, and the public sector.

The "Global Sourcing" team will be based in Singapore, Satyam's headquarters for the Asia-Pacific region. It will support projects from Southeast Asia and China, among others.

Satyam has 225 full-time staff in Singapore and 1,500 employees in the Asia Pacific.
