McAfee on Monday issued another report on the safety of search engines and found that 4 percent of results link to risky Web sites.

The good news is that search engines are generally safer than they were in May 2006 when 5 percent of search engines linked to dangerous sites.

According to the report, improvement was largely attributed to safer sponsored results. Overall though sponsored results still contain 2.4 times as many risky sites as organic results.
