I like using Pandora on my Apple iPhone and read this week that there is now support for a couple selected Windows Mobile devices. Unfortunately, I don't have either of these two selected devices (HTC Touch and Motorola Q9C on Sprint and Verizon) so need to look elsewhere for online music. There is a beta of last.fm mobile for Windows Mobile devices that seems to work fine. A new client that is optimized for Windows Mobile to give you a great experience is SeeqPod Playable Search that is available for an introductory price of US$9.95 (regular US$14.95). However, if you are reading this blog entry on Sunday, 21 December 2008, then you can go there now and get the application for FREE.
SeeqPod Mobile is the best looking online music streaming application I have seen with support for WM Standard and Professional devices running Windows Mobile 6.0 or greater, including those with VGA displays. They have added some very nice skins and improved the user interface with some excellent graphics and transitions so it really looks like a polished application. With SeeqPod Mobile you can search the internet for music, playlists, Wikipedia articles and more. You can choose to make purchases too and the Amazon music store will open in your browser to complete the purchase.
Features listed on the SeeqPod site are as follows: * Search the internet for individual playable search results including audio, text, PodLists, and related Wikipedia articles * Easy access to thousands of SeeqPod's daily updated Featured PodLists * Media purchase links * Best of class graphics, with interchangeable color themes and player skins * Super easy to use, with one-handed controls (and touch, stylus, and gestures on PocketPC devices) * Bluetooth ready for capable or adapted players, home audio, and car stereos
