Self-heating baby bottle can warm milk without using electricity
Industrial designer Karim Rashid has designed a self-heating baby bottle that can warm milk to body temperature without using electricity.
Named Iiamo Go, the bottle heats the milk using a disposable capsule that causes a chemical reaction to heat the bottle.
The disposable cartridge contains water and salt (CaCl2); heat is generated as the salt becomes rehydrated. Just pour the milk into the bottle and insert the cartridge into its bottom. In a few minutes, the milk will be warmed.
Made in Denmark, the product is billed as a portable, non-electrical, organic way to feed a baby. It's a novel idea, but whether it's worth almost $50 (and $12 cartridges) depends more on how much you like Rashid's work than how efficient the product is at feeding your baby.
