Serena Software is delving deeper into DevOps with a suite of new solutions designed to automate and control application development and operations processes.

Falling within a category dubbed "Orchestrated IT," or IT management systems that link existing tools into a process-driven human workflow, these platforms are geared to tackle processes such as IT and demand management.

Serena reps boast the new technologies as "the market’s first Orchestrated IT solution that truly binds Dev and Ops together in the most efficient way possible."

The goal behind Serena's approach is to streamline project times through a single stack of integrated products, all controlled by an overarching,  "IT front office" dashboard with visibility into the performance of these interlocked solutions.

Serena's Orchestrated IT suite is comprised of five components, three of which are brand new and two are updated products -- all of which can be purchased separately, depending on what the client needs.

Along with the aforementioned dashboard, Serena's two new platforms consist of a Demand Manager and a Requirements Manager, touted to streamline prioritization of all IT requests and enable accelerated review cycles, respectively.

The Serena Service Manager has been updated to handle more collaboration for resolving IT issues, while enhanced Release Manager works with the new Service Manager to improve synergies between Dev and Ops.

These solutions are targeted at larger companies and enterprises with 500 or more employees within industries ranging from financial to travel to telecommunications.

The Orchestrated IT Dashboard, Service Manager 3 and Release Manager 2 are available now, while the Demand Manager and Requirements Manager will follow this spring. Pricing for Serena's Orchestrated IT solutions starts at $12,500 for 250 users.
