Oil giant Shell has signed a €300m outsourcing deal to support its fuel payment-card services.

Under the 10-year deal, UK outsourcing firm Logica and payment specialist FleetCor Technologies will provide and run the technology platform that underpins Shell's portfolio of fuel-card services in 35 countries in Europe and Asia.

As part of the deal, Logica will replace Shell's existing fuel-card platform with a new system based on FleetCor's Global FleetNet card-processing system.

The first pilot of the new platform is due to be completed by April 2012, with the full rollout concluded by the end of 2013.

The new card-processing system is designed to enable Shell to expand its fuel-card services, along with other business improvements.
