Smartbook AG gets some Swarovski baubles plus higher price tag

Last week, it was the Olympus Pen E-P1 digital camera. Now the Smartbook AG Zenid CG is being decked out in some Swarovski crystals too. Is it just because shiny stuff always looks better during the holidays or is this really becoming a new trend among gadgets?

It certainly won't be a cheap trend, as this netbook saw its price jump to about $3,000, from just $450 before. Apparently you'll also get a bottle of champagne and a fancy carrying case included in the price, but it still might be better just to bedazzle it yourself.

As for underneath the glamour, the German-made Smartbook AG features a 10-inch screen, built-in Wi-Fi, 2 GB of RAM and 360 GB of hard drive space.

Any takers? If so, not only let us know, but also hurry since there will only be 20 of these made.
