Snapchat announced a new name, Snap Inc, in a wide-ranging profile in the Wall Street Journal -- with new sunglasses hardware to match.

Available this fall for $129, "Spectacles" can record up to 10 seconds of video using a button on the hinge of the glasses. Videos recorded are beamed to a smartphone, where users can choose what to post.

The hardware is a new direction for Snapchat who created the app that allows its million of users to share disappearing photos and videos, and a place for creators to share content as well.

Business Insider posted a video of Snapchat's new glasses hours before the announcement. They're said to use a 115-degree-angle lens to record -- different from the typical vertical video.

"We're going to take a slow approach to rolling them out," Evan Spiegel, CEO of Snap Inc, told the WSJ. "It's about us figuring out if it fits into people's lives and seeing how they like it."
