Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play shines in white

The big trend with smartphones seems to be that after they're debuted in traditional black, then they are also introduced in sleek white. Apple can't seem to get it right with the iPhone 4, but Sony Ericsson has with the Xperia Play.

So far the only known carrier that will offer the white Xperia Play will be O2 in the United Kingdom, which posted a couple of promo images to its Flickr page.

Unfortunately, no word on when (or if) this version of the PlayStation-enabled handset will be available with Verizon Wireless in the United States. We'll keep our eyes peeled.
