SOX compliance: the big picture

META Group reminds companies that Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance is never done, urging companies that have resources and attention focused on short-term requirements (i.e. Section 404) to not lose sight of the bigger picture and ongoing nature of SOX compliance. Going into 2005, companies should begin to address how to reduce the costs associated with maintaining and evidencing compliance, focus on business and IT process simplification, and move away from over-reliance on less-sophisticated point solutions.
