Cloud backup service provider Spanning, which provides a cloud-based service for backing up Google Apps data, is testing a similar offering for Salesforce.com accounts.
Spanning Backup for Salesforce does pretty much what you would expect: it offers an automated daily backup for data and customer details stored in the widely used cloud-hosted CRM application. The offering will support point-in-time recovery, so you can specify the specific date or time that recovery should begin. Administrators can follow backup and recovery activity in Chatter newsfeeds.
Spanning anticipates commercial availability of its service in the first quarter of 2014. Pricing for the service hasn't been disclosed yet, but the Google Apps offering is priced at $40 per user per year (across a domain account).
