Steve Jobs to present Lion OS, iCloud at WWDC 2011 keynote
Apple has officially confirmed that CEO Steve Jobs will continue the tradition of presenting the opening keynote address at Worldwide Developers Conference 2011 next week.
So far, the Cupertino, Calif.-based company has announced that a more in-depth look at iOS 5, Lion (the eighth and latest version of Mac OS X), and a new product called iCloud. It's fairly easy to determine that the latter will be Apple's new cloud computing product, but we'll have to wait and see how it is tied into MobileMe.
Apple did not confirm, however, whether or not we'll be seeing a new iPhone model unveiled at the event. That will likely not happen until at least this fall when Apple typically unveils new iPods in time for the back-to-school season.
Additionally, many spectators are curious to see if Apple will answer Google Wallet with a mobile payments program of its own. Given that there are already many rumors that the iPhone 5 will sport NFC capabilities, it could definitely happen but maybe not by next week.
All those questions (and possibly more) will hopefully be addressed next Monday, June 6 at 10:00 AM PT/1:00 PM ET from WWDC 2011 in San Francisco.
