When it comes to wanting their iPods, some students can get rather nasty. A high school teacher in Philadelphia found this out the hard way after taking away an iPod frm one of them during class. She was hospitalized after they attacked her, reports the Associated Press.

Teacher Frank Burd, 60, was assaulted in the hallway at Germantown High School by a 17-year-old who brought an iPod to class, officials said. iPods are not allowed in class. Another student joined in the fracas by punching Burd, who then fell and hit his head, said Fernando Gallard, a spokesman for the Philadelphia School District.

Burd was taken to the hospital with two broken bones in his neck but is not paralyzed, said Paul Vallas, the district's chief executive officer. The two students were charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment, police said.

Vallas said they will be expelled.
