The Dell'Oro Group is not affiliated with Dell Computer, nor are they gold. But they've just come out with a new study that shows that from July thru September of this year, the number of IP PBX lines shipped were 2.1 million, a 14 increase over the same period in 2003.

"Traditional lines gained only four percent to 9.6 million, as VoIP replaces traditional lines in business," Dell'oro spokesperson Julie Learmond-Criqui wrote in a press release announcing the report.

According to Dell'Oro, the topthreeoverall PBX vendors (including IP PBX)in terms of sales are Nortel, Avaya, and Siemens.

Would you consider replacing your current PBX with an IP PBX? If so, why? If not, why not? Have you done so already? What have your experiences been?
