T-Mobile customers can soon pre-order the Motorola CLIQ for $199.99

Andrew was lucky enough to get some hands-on time with the Motorola CLIQ a couple of weeks ago and I was thinking about picking one up since I am a T-Mobile customer. Today, T-Mobile announced that existing customers could pre-order the CLIQ starting 19 October by visiting the new CLIQ website. This pre-sale runs from 19 October until 1 November and then starting on 2 November new customers will be able to pick one up for $199.99 with a two-year agreement.

I have been purchasing way too many devices lately and need to take a more critical look at devices before I jump to quickly to make personal purchases. The Motorola CLIQ does look like quite a nice device, but I plan to hold off on this one since I have my new T-Mobile Touch Pro2 and the specs of the CLIQ don't seem to be much different than my existing T-Mobile G1 Android device. I think the only other device I will pick up this year is the Nokia N900 and then I will wait until 2010 to see some high powered devices with the Snapdragon and Tegra processors inside. The $200 price of the CLIQ appears to be reasonable with the myTouch 3G priced at $149.99.
