If you need a plate to tell you when to stop eating, you might have a problem. But maybe the Mandometer is just what America needs to combat the war on obesity.

Sometimes we all eat too fast or too much, and we need a little help realizing this. Mandometer, a healthy eating clinic, has developed a talking plate (sounds like something from Beauty and the Beast) that has a built-in electronic scale to weigh the food as it disappears from the plate, while the consumption rate is calculated and displayed on the attached screen.

It will tell you if you are eating too fast or too slow, and also when you should probably be full. I can definitely see this gadget as being useful, but I don't know if I want to hear the truth about my eating habits...
