Telefonica Moviles has picked two more equipment providers to help roll out its UMTS infrastructure in Spain.

Nokia and Ericsson will join Motorola in building a network, which will serve Spanish towns with over 250,000 inhabitants. Telefonica is set to invest E121m (£73m) in the roll out of this first phase, expected to be completed by next August. Telefonica Moviles won its UMTS licence last May, and will invest a total of E5.28bn (£3.2bn) in the construction of its UMTS network.
