in brief Telstra has been working to fix faults in its Next G network in parts of Queensland after customers reported problems making and receiving calls.

Telstra said that since around 5:15am this morning there were issues with some of its radio network controllers which were affecting services in Brisbane, Townsville and the Sunshine Coast.

The outage caused problems with calls and data on the company's 850MHz network, according to the company.

Telstra spokesperson Craig Middleton told ZDNet Australia that the company hoped to have services restored before lunchtime.
