in brief Two suppliers of installation and maintenance services to Telstra yesterday announced the telco had renewed their contracts for the next several years.

In a statement send to the Australian Stock Exchange, Broadcast Services Australia said it had re-signed its existing contract with Telstra for services covering Sydney and Brisbane. The new two-year contract has an estimated value of between AU$65 million and AU$70 million and commences July 2006.

Service Stream said its contract covered Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, and involved "the installation and maintenance of telephone and ADSL products and services into the customer's home and/or premises, on behalf of Telstra".

The supplier's contract is for two years, with two one-year extensions at Telstra's option, and is expected to be worth AU$25 million per annum.
