Twitter has helped enterprising celebrities, charities, and even anonymous funnymen earn paydays of six figures (or more). Here are five of the most profitable tweets and Twitter accounts ever, Wall Street Journal reports:

Kim Kardashian (@KimKardashian) has 17.5 million followers. Celebrities who focus on marketing and branding will earn more money by having more followers and being more interactive with social media marketing companies that can broker sponsorship deals. $100,000 for a single retweet.

Twitchange (@TwitChange) held a celebrity charity auction in 2010 for Haiti. They had an eBay auction where fans could bid on a chance to be followed, mentioned, or retweeted by a celebrity such as Eva Longoria and Demi Moore. They raised $540,000.

Justin Halpern started the Twitter account @shitmydadsays, which has led to a book and a television show (@MyDadSays_CBS). $1 million.

With over 35 million followers, Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) has one of the biggest Twitter followings of any celebrity. For musicians earning money through concerts, Twitter is an invaluable source of advertising and free marketing. It could account for one-third of her earnings. $17 million.

And then there’s Jack Dorsey (@jack), the founder of Twitter. He sent the world’s first tweet -- "just setting up my twttr" -- seven years ago. Along with other internet ventures, he’s now worth $1.1 billion, according to Forbes. That single tweet amounts to $55 million per character.
