The rumored fourth-generation Moto X from Lenovo-owned Motorola will feature an all-metal design, according to a leaked press photo.

Motorola has used plastic in the past, able to keep cost down for a cheaper handset. The all-metal puts it closer to the Samsung Galaxy S7, iPhone 6, and HTC One.

The Moto X leak comes before Motorola's event, planned for May 17, where the company is expected to reveal its first flagship with Lenovo influence -- after clearing its pipeline post-acquisition.

The leak also reveals a camera bulge with dual-LED flash, a fingerprint reader, and what looks to be a dock connector, bringing Motorola back to its accessory days.

Noted mobile leaker Evleaks validated the leaked images over the weekend, saying more information will be coming soon.

No specifications or pricing have been leaked, however the Wall Street Journal says a new Moto X is expected in July.

Another press photo for a new Droid headed to Verizon also leaked on Sunday.
