TomTom is one of the only GPS sport watch makers to support music playback directly from the watch. On Thursday, it announced three new products, one of which is an upgrade to the TomTom Spark Cardio + Music device. TomTom offers reasonably priced wearables with tons of functionality.

TomTom Touch

TomTom is also entering the activity tracking market with the launch of the TomTom Touch. One feature that sets this activity tracker apart from the rest of the crowd is the ability to measure and monitor your body composition (ratio of body fat to muscle mass) while also counting steps, measuring heart rate, and more.

As an athlete who has spent his entire life in the obese zone of impractical charts, I can't wait to try this out and see where my body composition falls. I used more advanced body fat testing at the US Coast Guard Academy, where I found I was not obese. I just didn't fit in the standard charts.

The TomTom Touch monitors 24/7 activity (steps, activity, and sleep), measures your heart rate, and provides basic phone notifications. It has a touchscreen display and is water resistant to an IPx7 level. Stated battery life is up to five days.

It will be available soon for $129.99 in small and large size.

TomTom Spark 3

Like the TomTom Spark 2 line, we will soon see the Spark 3 ($129.99), Spark 3 Music ($169.99), Spark 3 Cardio ($189.99), and Spark 3 Cardio + Music ($249.99). The primary difference between the Spark 2 and Spark 3 line is the addition of route exploration. Route exploration provides you with a map of your activity, with the idea that you can go where you want and find your way back with the help of a TomTom Spark 3 device.

TomTom Adventurer

This is the new model I am personally most interested in, as it provides all of the features of the TomTom Spark 3 Cardio + Music along with a more rugged design and a barometer and compass. It is designed for hikers, trail runners, and those hitting the mountains in the winter.

The TomTom Adventurer will be available in October for $349.99. It also includes the new route exploration mode, as well as the ability to automatically track slope runs to provide live altitude for ascent and descent metrics.
