Too much power

Even if Microsoft is playing absolutely fair with every other company in the computer business -- which it isn't -- it bears watching. The nearly complete monopoly Windows has as an operating system gives Microsoft too much power over computing. Any non-competitive action that the corporation takes is potentially serious, simply because of Microsoft's control of Windows. Entrepreneurship was at the root of the computer revolution; and now Bill Gates, one of the original entrepreneurs, has the power to crush competitors who might have a better idea. This may be good for Bill Gates, but it is bad for everyone else.
