Trend Micro has extended its Deep Security as a Service on Amazon Web Services for customers in the Asia-Pacific region. This offers AWS customers in the region a variety of security modules, such as data encryption, firewall, malicious software detection and blocking, web reputation and integrity monitoring, and compliance controls.

"Across Asia-Pacific, enterprises are increasingly leveraging cloud platforms. At the same time, CIOs are also concerned about targeted attacks and advanced threats, and defending against them must be part of a broader strategy of detection and prevention," said Dhanya Thakkar, Trend Micro's managing director of South East Asia and India.

The product is designed to be tightly integrated with AWS to make deployment faster and easier for customers. In addition, security can be elastically added to instances immediately to provide additional protection of instances as they launch. Deep Security as a Service on AWS was first launched in North America last May.

The service features a centrally-managed security console for easy administration. It is also available on a Test Drive program.
