I'm arranging some quid pro quo work at the moment, dog training for web site design (I'm not sure if the Inland Revenue look kindly upon bartering, as it does cut them out of the loop!).

I have tried to impress upon the potential client the importance of testimonials. I may know that I'm pretty darned good at building web sites; however, what does somebody who doesn't know me got to go on?

To this end, I recommended he have a look at My Builder, a shining example of how the web can work well, and an example too of the importance of testimonials and trust. The feedback really is an important part of the whole process, and negative feedback can turn a snap decision the wrong way.
