Twitter just added a whole new dimension to their product today. They are rolling out "Lists", which lets you group friends into easy-to-manage categories. Lists are accessible at the following URL pattern: twitter.com/username/list

I think this will enable people to find more specific groups of people to follow. People will rarely look at their main feeds anymore.

The design team at Twitter did a great job of building the user interaction. It's really easy to create and manage a list of people.

When you follow someone, you are offered the option to add them to a list.

Once you build a list, you can view all of the tweets from those people:

Using Lists will be a great way to get more people following you. If you are added to a list, it's easier to follow you as well.

I'm interested to see how 3rd party apps build on this. Also, how will the spammers dig into this? What lists will you make?
